Storytelling is vital to sharing a nonprofit organization's mission with your community and video is perhaps the best medium for storytelling in today's digital world.
Here are three surprisingly easy ways to create great storytelling videos for your nonprofit...
- Use smartphone apps: Record, edit, and more with free or nearly free apps on your smart phone! Check out Splice and Magisto - both free on iOS and Android.
- Use gimbals: While not free, gimbals are worth the investment for higher quality storytelling videos. No shaky hands here, just smooth storytelling! We recommend the DJI OSMO, but there are plenty of other great options out there.
- Use video volunteers: Nonprofits are great at mobilizing volunteer power! A great way to gain new volunteers and build your video storytelling ability is through finding local students or even young professionals who love film. This is a great way to give them a chance to hone their skills and get your nonprofit's story out into the community so you can grow your support!
